Published in September 2005 this devotional has risen to the top. It was “Voted Best Daily Devotional for 2006” by Christian Story Teller. This is an honor to receive such an award and we pray that we can live up to those expectations. Straight up, this book isn’t for perfect people who have it all together spiritually— you know— the “saints” among us. No, this is a devotional that speaks an honest, vulnerable language with clear, down to earth writing that hits home. The author himself was not always the epitome of godliness. He made some poor choices as a young man, then later, as an adult, suffered the consequences of some difficult circumstances. Those mistakes and real-life challenges give Rick Bowman a homespun wisdom about relationships, priorities, and faith. This is not your typical devotional book. You will be marking the pages of “a common devotional from a common man and recalling the entries long after you close the book. When we think of courage, we think of heroes like Superman or a war hero fighting on the front lines.
